Rules, Integrity & Troubleshooting
Fix tracking issues, understand rescoring, posting limits, geo/KYC rules, and integrity standards.
Top fixes (most common tickets)
1) My points didn’t update
The leaderboard refreshes roughly every 10 minutes. Wait at least one refresh cycle. If points still don’t show:
Confirm your post includes a required identifier (# / $ / @ / Buzz link)
Confirm your account and post are public
Confirm you didn’t post within the 8‑hour rewarded-post window
Use Submit X Post Manually (paste the post URL)
2) My post isn’t being tracked
Most tracking issues are caused by missing identifiers, private/deleted posts, the 8-hour rule, or X visibility/indexing delays. Manual submission is the fastest fix.
3) Why did my points / rank drop?
Points can drop due to re-scoring as new data arrives or after integrity checks remove suspicious, inorganic, deleted, or invalid activity. Rank can also change as other users earn points.
Manual submission (Submit X Post Manually)
Use manual submission if your eligible post isn’t detected automatically:
Copy the post URL from X
Open the campaign page
Click Submit X Post Manually
Paste the URL and submit
Wait ~10 minutes for the next refresh
Manual submission helps ensure processing, but the post still must meet campaign rules.
Posting limits
You can earn points on one rewarded post every 8 hours per project
Extra posts within the 8-hour window may help visibility but usually won’t increase points
Private X accounts
Private/protected accounts generally cannot be tracked reliably. Keep your X account public to participate.
Editing or deleting posts
Deleted posts may have their points removed
Editing a post can cause rescoring or detection issues if identifiers change
Smart Followers not updating
Smart follower metrics may refresh on a schedule and can differ across platforms due to different definitions and filters. Use the in-app refresh button (My Stats) when available.
Can I change my connected X account?
In most cases, changing your X account means you will lose progress because points and eligibility are tied to the registered X account. For integrity reasons, points typically can’t be migrated between X accounts.
Integrity rules (farmer resistance)
Buzz uses integrity checks to reduce manipulation. Attempts to game the system (bots, fake accounts, engagement pods, bought engagement, VPN bypass of restrictions) can lead to removal of points or disqualification.
Restricted regions (Buzzdrops)
Buzzdrops are geo-blocked by IP in certain jurisdictions for compliance reasons. Restricted regions currently include:
Statutory bans: Algeria, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Nepal, Tunisia
Sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea/Donetsk/Luhansk (Ukraine)
Additional blocked markets: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Hong Kong
VPN blocking is enforced, and attempts to bypass restrictions may result in disqualification.
Privacy: what data is stored when connecting X?
Buzz stores what it needs to verify posts and calculate scoring: X user ID/handle and public profile info, post IDs/links, follower counts and scoring metadata (including Smart/Verified follower signals), campaign participation status, and your connected wallet address for distribution. X is connected via OAuth; passwords are not stored.
